Creative Coalition

We are an inclusive, representative body that exists to further the cohesiveness, promotion, communication and influence of the arts, culture and creative sectors in Tamaki Makaurau (the region of Auckland).

We will do this by:

- Encouraging and strengthening connection and collaboration, within and beyond the sector.

- Being an effective conduit of communication to and from the sector.

- Promoting, raising the profile and understanding of the value of the sector.

- Being a source of expertise and influence for the region on issues, planning, - strategies and opportunities for the development of the sector from an arts and creative sector perspective.

- Working with enablers and influencers to further the collective interests and aspirations of the sector.

    Creative Coalition

In the transition to the new Auckland governance, the creation of an Auckland Arts & Culture Advisory Group by Auckland’s arts and culture sector was strongly recommended by members of the ATA. (The sports and recreation sector have undertaken this type of regional strategy development some time ago.)

After three workshops attended by members of the local creative sector across 2010-2011, Creative Coalition was born. We now continue to act as a conduit between council (and other bodies) and the Auckland creative sector, championing the arts and creative expression in Auckland.
