Clever Kiwi Arts & Crafts, Reyburn Street, Whangarei

Our new shop is called Clever Kiwi Arts & Crafts and it is entirely devoted to 100% New Zealand made arts and crafts.

We are located at 27 Reyburn Street in Whangarei, just across the street from the Clapham Clock Museum and the Town Basin.

Clever Kiwi Arts & Crafts is unique in that our shop is both an arts and crafts store and a working studio for as many as 6 artists and craftspeople.

We designed it for visitors to see tailors, weavers, spinners, felt makers, hat makers, glass artists, and others working at their craft. We offer visitors a unique shopping experience that is informative, entertaining and fun. Clever Kiwi Arts & Crafts is a place where visitors both young and old can interact with artists and crafts people, watch them at work and learn about the various crafts. Our shop offers a wide variety of artwork, handmade clothing, various crafts and jewellery. We also offer a wonderful selection of fibre art supplies for spinners and felt makers.

In addition to our large facility we aim to be a local community center which offers a wide range of classes for learning various arts and crafts. Classes are planned for various evenings during the week and they are forming now. We will also be regularly featuring local and visiting artists and craftspeople for in store demonstrations.

Our mission at Clever Kiwi Arts & Crafts is to offer the very finest and most truly innovative New Zealand made arts and crafts. We aim to illustrate through our handcrafts and artwork all of the natural beauty New Zealand has to offer while also demonstrating the benefits of recycling by using only natural, or renewable, or recyclable resources for our materials. We feel our main purpose is to showcase the talented and gifted artists of New Zealand and to insure that these time-honored handcrafts and skills are kept alive. In

addition we are committed to promoting and advocating the tremendous benefits, value and advantages of wool and other natural fibres verses synthetics. We are here to promote and advocate the exceptional quality of New Zealand wools.
