Ferner Galleries Salon
Ferner Galleries Salon is an industry first in New Zealand, but interestingly follows a trend that is currently emerging in galleries in Europe. Our point of difference is that our gallery has no retail hours but will be open ‘by appointment’, offering collectors a personalized art service.
Situated in an enclave of creativity amongst architects, boutique clothes designers and some fabulous restaurants this new architecturally designed premise at 5/36 Sale Street in the Victoria Quarter is a destination worth visiting.
Ferner Galleries represent emerging artists such as photography graduate Niki Hill, contemporary Maori artist Tracey Tawhiao through to New Zealand’s highly respected senior artist’s Ian Scott and Kura Te Waru Rewiri.
We also operate as a dealer gallery, offering to the market high quality second hand art, from 19th century watercolours by John Gully, rare editions by printmakers from the 1950’s such as Eileen Mayo and Mervyn Taylor, through to stunning work by cannons of New Zealand’s contemporary art scene such as Ralph Hotere and Michael Smither.
