The Trons at Te Tuhi
Had you ever thought of coming to gig at your local Public Art Gallery? Well it’s uncommon, but not a bad idea, so this month Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts presents for the first time a real LIVE gig in the gallery.
But don’t come expecting to hear a regular garage band of ‘wanna-be’ rock star teenagers. Te Tuhi’s bringing The Trons to Pakuranga!
Returning from their successful European tour, with appearances in Paris, Prague and Berlin, The self playing robot band, Trons will be performing their first NZ gig at Te Tuhi.
The performance of band members: Ham (vox and rhythm guitar), Wiggy (single string lead guitar), Swamp (drums) and Fifi (keyboards, one hand working!) has already registered more than 1 million hits on YouTube. Te Tuhi offers the opportunity for Aucklander’s to experience this New Zealand band that has created a worldwide buzz. This gig is the first appearance of The Trons in NZ since the Big Day Out 2009 and their only scheduled performance in Auckland to date.
The staff at Te Tuhi don’t want anyone to miss out on the first gallery gig ever, so not only is this an event FREE of any door charge, they’re putting on a FREE shuttle to transport inner-city dwellers to and from the gig. Saturday 20th June 2.00pm.
