Fluro Magazine Issue Eight 'Creative Destruction' released
Happy 2009 and all that jazz. At Fluro we took some time over
summer to bask in the sun, indulge in debauchery and work on
our tans. We also produced a shiny new issue of Fluro, Creative
Destruction.
No doubt you’ve heard economists and other thrilling
characters harp on about the recession and the dire financial times
ahead. This got us thinking about our generation and how we are
facing our first real ‘hardship’. It’s an interesting predicament for a
group of kids who have been told that anything and everything is
possible. Is the world no longer our oyster, but instead a deep fried
scallop?
Creative Destruction considers the creative implications of
a slumped economy, the growth in information sharing and the way
business models are being forced to changed. We’ve had discussions
with piracy advocate Matt Mason, author of ‘The Pirates Dilemma’,
uncovered an innovative new music sharing website and explored
the notion of ‘freeganism’. There are some fine fiction submissions
as well as the usual goodies like reviews, five finger discounts and
opshop finds.
Brought to you with tender love and a seedy wink,
The Fluro Team
