Marie Antoinette meets Hippopotamus
The delicious treats and premium service of the Hippopotamus Restaurant will be put to the ultimate test on Wednesday 2nd December, as Marie Antoinette arrives to enjoy high tea.
The fabled French Queen was infamous for her lavish style and exquisite high standards. Only the very finest delicacies were acceptable at her table.
Fortunately, Hippopotamus has earned a reputation for delighting the most demanding palate. Executive Chef Laurent Loudeac has guided the restaurant to five-star reviews and growing renown.
Loudeac is confident the delicious high tea will leave Marie Antoinette more than satisfied.
Marie Antoinette is in town for interactive theatre event The Affair of the Diamond Necklace, at the St James on December 12.
Members of the public who wish to meet Marie Antoinette (played by Francesca Emms), Countess Lamotte (Kerina Deas) and the rest of the court are welcome at the Hippopotamus High Tea on Wednesday from 2pm.
Also, they can keep their eyes open for the Queen and her party processing back to the St James Theatre after the tea is done.
