Public consultation for new Creative New Zealand strategic plan
Creative New Zealand will run a public consultation process this month prior to developing a new strategic plan.
This public consultation process provides New Zealanders with the opportunity to give their views on the strategic direction of Creative New Zealand.
We welcome your views on this important issue. Creative New Zealand publishes a strategic plan every three years so it is clear how our activities will support artists, practitioners and arts organisations in the coming years.
The new Strategic Plan 2010-2013 will take effect from 1 July 2010.
A draft plan has been developed for 2010-2013 and will be available at www.creativenz.govt.nz on 14 September 2009. Information on how you can provide feedback will also be available on our website.
The due date for all feedback on Creative New Zealand's Strategic Plan is 5pm on 16 October 2009.
Following completion of the consultation process, a summary report will be published outlining key messages and themes emerging from public submissions.
If you have any questions about the consultation process please email stratplan@creativenz.govt.nz or phone (04) 473 0193.

Creative New Zealand
Creative New Zealand is the national agency for the development of the arts in New Zealand. The purpose of our work is to encourage, promote and support the arts in New Zealand for the benefit of all New Zealanders.
(Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa Act 1994).Our mandate is to support community and professional arts. In doing so, we uphold the principles of access, participation, and excellence and innovation in the arts.
We value the partnership we have with Maori, in acknowledgement of their unique position as tangata whenua. Much of what makes New Zealand art unique lies in what makes New Zealand unique - our indigenous culture.
We also value Pacific arts and their growing contribution to New Zealand identity. Given the increasing ethnic diversity of New Zealand’s population, Creative New Zealand works to ensure that our impact is felt across the population.
