Greg Ward in 'A Brief History of Music' - musical comedy at it's finest!

Greg Ward & Peakward Productions Presents

A Brief History of Music

 MUSICAL COMEDY AT ITS FINEST!

Fresh from the demanding world of the New Zealand and Australian corporate events arena, this country’s most versatile entertainer brings to the public his brand-new solo musical-comedy show, A Brief History of Music.

Greg Ward, musician, actor, singer, improviser, comedian and all-round funny guy has performed live to over an estimated quarter of a million people throughout his career and has appeared on many New Zealand television shows in comedy, acting and entertainment roles, including ‘Stars in Their Eyes’. He’s most recognisable though, from his recent televised commercial role as the singing father in Sanitariums ‘Fibre Life’ breakfast cereal ad.

Greg’s comedy career began in 1997 with his first performance at the then-home of comedy, Kitty O’Briens.  Greg’s brand of musical humour was quickly recognised and an appearance on NZ TV’s iconic Pulp Comedy soon followed.  Greg swiftly realised the corporate market was a career option and steadily gained a reputation as one of the industry’s top entertainers.

Greg’s public comedy credits include the Ward & Tutheridge show ‘You Can’t Come In With Those Shoes On, Sir’ in the NZ International Comedy Festival 2003, for which they were reported by the NZ Herald as one of the top five acts in the festival - along with such luminaries as Flight of the Conchords and Billy T  award winner Justine Smith.  Greg is also the creator of ‘Instant Broadway’ – the Covert Theatre’s full-length improvised musical format.

A Brief History of Music is a laugh-a-minute look at how music has evolved, from the Big Bang to today’s lip-synching Britney Spears, featuring newly-written comic songs (you’ll never think of Barry White in the same way again), on-the-spot musical improvisation, witty audience interaction, the ‘how-does-he-do it?’ Elton John Challenge and a very, very special finale!
