Designer Direction Launches 'Discovered' Fashion Design Competition
Global fashion channel, fashiontv brings another innovative first - the FTV Online Designer Awards!
The fashiontv Online Designer Awards is an exciting new concept set to help emerging designers in Australia and New Zealand achieve domestic and international recognition. Aimed at launching emerging new talent, the award brings the power of online networks, Perth Fashion Festival and the backing of global fashiontv brand to create exposure.
The competition, open now, attracts an entry fee of $244 however fashiontv have chosen Designer Direction (www.designerdirection.co.nz) as a collaboration partner so 3 lucky, emerging designer talents and followers of Designer Direction can win a place in the inaugural fashiontv Online Designer Awards competition, waiving the entry fee and awarding some great prizes.
“There are so many talented designers in New Zealand who should win a place in this competition and we have three places to award, so to help us decide, we’ve built a quick turn-around competition” says Designer Direction owner Melody Wehipeihana.
“As well as a place in the fashiontv online designer awards, the winners from our competition will get a professional photo shoot at Kingsize Studios with hair styling by industry great Richard Kavanagh, models from Clyne Management and make up by a M.A.C Cosmetics artist – we’re very lucky to have great people supporting us”
To enter the Designer Direction competition, judged by Isaac Hindin-Miller, Salasai’s Kirsha Whitcher and Idiom Tauranga’s Chris and Rachelle Duffy, entrants can choose to submit their conceptual drawings for the fashiontv online designer awards or provide images of a previous collection. Entrants have until Friday June 11 for their submission to be considered, with the fashiontv Online Designer Awards closing July 4 2010
