2009 Best in Show Winner Glory, Esther Topfer, Silkscreen and Mixed Media on Glass

The Whanganui National Art Exhibition and Award promotes the fine arts in New Zealand. This is the second year the Best in Show award has been presented.

The annual Whanganui National Art Exhibition and Award has all works for sale and a cash award is given to the artist with the Best in Show as judged by a selection panel.

Receiving days

Monday 13 September between 10.30am and 4pm, Wanganui Community Arts Centre, 19 Taupo Quay, Wanganui

Tuesday 14 September between 10.30am and 4pm, Wanganui Community Arts Centre, 19 Taupo Quay, Wanganui

Wednesday 15 September between 10.30am and 4pm, Wanganui Community Arts Centre, 19 Taupo Quay, Wanganui

The exhibition is open to all artists living and working in New Zealand, and offers an array of styles and tastes. The Whanganui National Art Exhibition and Award aims to promote New Zealand artists and New Zealand contemporary arts, and to bring new arts experiences to the city.

Work submitted to the Wanganui Community Arts Centre, 19 Taupo Quay, Wanganui, between 10.30am & 4pm

• Friday, September 17 - Exhibition Opening at the Wanganui Community Arts Centre, 5pm to 8pm

• Sunday, October 6 - Final day of exhibition

• Thursday, October 7 -  Collection of work from the Wanganui Community Arts Centre, between 10.30am & 4pm
