New operational structure announced for Q

Q Theatre, Auckland’s brightest performing arts venue will open its doors in 20ll. The construction of one of New Zealand’s most innovative theatres is well underway and attention has now turned to recruiting the senior team who will lead the way.

The Q Theatre Board has decided that a new operational leadership position is to be established. The Director will be the lead role in the organisation and will also be responsible for programming the venue. They will work closely with the Q Theatre Business Manager and the Q Development Manager, both of which are also new roles.

The recruitment of the Q Theatre Business Manager and the Q Development Manager will be undertaken in 2011 when the Q Theatre Director has been appointed.

The current position of General Manager, Q Theatre will be continued for the duration of the construction period.

The Director: Q Theatre will be responsible for developing and delivering a programme that reflects Q’s brand values and cements Q’s role as a vital hub for the New Zealand’s Performing Arts. Working with the Board, the Q team, many hundreds of industry supporters and key funding stakeholders, the Director will maintain and grow the vision and business of Q so that Q strongly connects artists with audiences and is a leader in the field.
