AUCKLAND ZINEFEST CALL FOR INVOLVEMENT
Self-Publishing Festival Returns For A Month Of Craft & Fun

Auckland Zinefest is back for 2011 and now calling for involvement.

Retuning in July in time to celebrate International Zine Month, the festival celebrates a DIY approach to publishing, where enthusiasts produce and share ideas, musings, writing and artwork using readily available tools.

The main event, featuring workshops and a zine market, will take place on Saturday July 16th, in Newton’s St Kevin’s Arcade and the Wine Cellar.

Throughout July there will be several other zine related events, including the first ever '24 Hour Zine Challenge' in Auckland, the weekend prior, Saturday 9th July at Tangleball.

Last year’s event was a huge success, with demand exceeding expectations for the market and workshops.

Event organizer Tessa Stubbing says, “This time we are recreating the successful format, however with the added strength of new partnerships and fun added extras, like the 24 Hour Zine Challenge. Right now we’re keen to talk to anyone who’s interested in putting up their hands up to get involved!”
