Michelle likes to create a feeling of otherworldliness, parallel universes merging. She uses her painting as a vehicle to blur the lines between reality and fantasy. In this body of work her focus is on Native New Zealand birds and the myth or legend behind each one, in the history of the Land of the Long White Cloud.
