Short Chamber Opera Composition Contest
Dust off your half finished manuscripts, review your "Opera Ideas" notebook, consult your Muses . . .
Composers are invited to submit works for A New Short Chamber Opera Contest launched by Opera Factory Trust in Auckland. Opera Factory has been operating for 15yrs and provides performance and opera training opportunities for emerging singers and young professionals.
Opera Factory is looking to encourage composition of some new works, suitable for their programmes as a way of increasing opportunity and encouraging new audiences to opera. Opera Factory has a fine track record of chamber opera performances with piano and this is where the contest is focussed. Winning entries will be workshopped which may lead to a performance season.
More details including the application form and contest guidelines are available on our website for download www.operafactory.com
Entries close at 5pm on Monday 30 January 2012
