Marion Courtillé

My name is Marion Courtillé, I am a french designer/maker living and working
in Napier, N.Z.

I am seeking stockists for my work which consists of contemporary objects,
jewellery and furniture.

I work predominantly with European vege-tanned leather, reappropriating my
knowledge and training in the processes of cabinetmaking to this material.
My collections and recent projects can be viewed at my blog site:
http://marioncourtille.blogspot.com/ where all my new creations are edited,
week by week.

I will let you know in a few weeks of the release of my new website which
will be dedicated to my leather work especially; in the meantime, my ranges
of furniture and other works can be viewed on my current website:

"Forgetting that leather is leather, Marion Courtillé transfers her
knowledge of cabinetmaking learned at Ecole Boulle, Paris.
By translating traditional methods of woodworking to leather, a process of
research and experimentation produced six seperate techniques.
These objects are turned, carved, laminated and joined like wood to create
tactile, and innovative forms."
