    Megan Bowers

Megan Bowers-Vette is a local photographer, born and bred in Northland. Photography must be a passion, because it has been all Megan has done since she was 16, loving all aspects of working a camera, and the experiences that come along with it.

Megan has a special affection for living in Northland and the beautiful landscapes that can be captured here, so is very excited about finally being able to bring her collection together and offer it to the public in a series of quality wall canvases and limited edition prints.

Megan’s other great love, besides her family, is art. This year brings about two exciting new art projects, one with the community photography space at the old library building, Te Studio. A lot of hard work has gone into creating Te Studio and Megan is proud to be a part of the Old Library, running the space voluntarily in a technician’s role to provide a great studio venue for the thriving arts and photographic community in Whangarei. Megan can be found at the Old Library Art Centre most week days, check the Te Studio page on this website for updates on workshops and events.

Another art project that is very close to her heart is the new range of photography books for newborns, inspired by her new experiences becoming a working mum.
Megan wanted to photograph a series of the most beautiful objects, printed in high detail for her Mangu and Ma first focus books. Many New Zealand icons come in black and white, rugby jerseys, fantails or gumboots, and Mangu and Ma is a mix of kiwiana and other gorgeously captured objects to attract baby, and improve their concentration and focus. Mangu and Ma is available to order from the books page on this website.
