Learn to make contemporary handmade artist's books with a focus on learning basic skills and creating personal designs.

The course is suitable for beginners, returning students or out-of-practice bookmakers seeking new inspiration.  Everything I'm planning to teach can be applied to projects at home with inexpensive and accessible tools and materials.  Beginners will progress from sewn pamphlets and accordian folds, through flag and flower fold books, to tunnel books, pop ups and boxes. Although I don't teach traditional bookbinding as such, I focus on building your confidence with basic book craft skills, so that you have a strong foundation for further development. These classes would be ideal for people who have accumulated prints, drawings, a collection of special papers or collage materials that they want to do something more with.
