Overview
Graduates will be able to:

  • Compose a publishable piece of writing in the language of their choice (English or Te Reo Mäori) and in a genre of their choice
  • Demonstrate a high level of editing skills\
  • Apply research skills in a variety of ways using a range of resources including books, internet and human and other networks
  • Prepare and present manuscripts to an acceptable industry standard using a word-processing programme
  • Use database and spreadsheet programmes at a basic level
  • Identify basic business skills for management as a self-employed writer
  • Have empathy for and awareness of bicultural issues.
