Employment in the Cultural Sector – Performing Arts

This chapter is divided into three main sections: the first, performing arts, looks at theatrical performance in general; the second, music, looks specifically at music as a performing art; and the third, services to the performing arts, looks at services that support the performing arts, including venues.

This report shows the changes in levels and distribution of employment in the cultural sector, highlighting the rapid growth and diversity within this sector. Demographics such as age, ethnicity, income, gender and education within each group are also examined.
