NZ International Business Awards closing date extended
The entry deadline for the New Zealand International Business Awards has been extended from March 31 to April 14 in order to allow businesses more time to apply.
Information about how to enter and entry criteria can be found online at www.nzte.govt.nz/awards.
Tim Gibson, chief executive of NZTE, says that the decision to extend the deadline is in response to feedback from the market. “The end of the financial year is always a very busy time for businesses and we have received requests to extend the closing date. With the Awards being in their first year, we want to ensure that companies have adequate time to get their entries in.
“Of course, this is also a challenging period for businesses – and time is at a premium.
“By providing tangible benefits to all companies that qualify for stage two, we believe companies will see real value in participating in the Awards. I encourage all New Zealand businesses that meet the criteria to enter.”
The Awards are organised by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) and proudly supported by strategic partner, ANZ. Other Award partners are Business New Zealand and TechNZ.
About the awards:
The New Zealand International Business Awards recognise New Zealand businesses operating in international markets. They have evolved from the New Zealand Export Awards, last held in 2007, and reflect the changing ways New Zealand companies do business internationally.
The New Zealand International Business Awards will both acknowledge and encourage success by providing value to all entrants. In addition to a $100,000 Supreme Award prize, the Awards feature an evaluation programme that will provide feedback to businesses on areas they can work on to become even more competitive.
Award categories include:
- Best business (small, medium and large) operating internationally
- Most innovative international business model
- Best use of design in international business
- Best commercialisation of intellectual property in international business
- Best use of research and development in international business.
The Supreme Award will be presented to an overall winner that has stood out across all of the above categories.
The Awards will also recognise an emerging and an outstanding business leader who have made a significant contribution to business internationalisation.
Entries in the inaugural Awards close on 14 April and the winners will be announced at an Awards ceremony dinner on 30 September 2009.
Entry forms and more information about the Awards are available from www.nzte.govt.nz/awards.
