A centre for education, research and commercialisation

The Learning Quarter is a vibrant place characterised by New Zealand's largest concentration of education and research activities (including AUT University and The University of Auckland).

To maximise this advantage and help fuel Auckland's future success, Auckland City Council, AUT University and The University of Auckland are working together (with support from the Committee for Auckland) to stimulate learning, research, cultural and business experiences in the city.

The impact of the activity that occurs in The Learning Quarter is far-reaching, extending beyond its boundaries to the city, the region, the country and the world.

It has a rich heritage, significant open spaces (such as Albert Park), unique cultural facilities, a diverse range of events and a growing residential community.
