The fourth annual Kids Art Festival for children and their families will be held at the Corban Estate Arts Centre on Saturday 8th of May 2010.
With an emphasis on participating and making art, this FREE festival for children is unique in the Auckland Region, perhaps even in the country.
The Kids Art Festival was a huge success in 2009 with over 3000 visitors taking part, and this year is shaping up to be even bigger and better with many talented artists and performers running over 15 workshops and activities.
This year’s theme is Art Speaks Many Languages giving children the opportunity to communicate and express through painting, sculpture, music, dance and storytelling.
The festival will include an exhibition of children’s art, live performances, food stalls and plenty of hands-on FREE creative activities for everyone to get involved in. Such as; pottery, street art, painting, paper lanterns for Diwali, creating cultural symbols, junk art assemblage, environmental art, creating musical instruments, mask making, photography, flax weaving, creating Chinese dragons, Pacifica arts, martial arts and Indian dance and drama.
This annual free day out provides a great opportunity for children and their parents and/or caregivers to get creative together. Come, join in with your children and enjoy your day out as a family, make a mess and leave us to do the cleaning up!
