In this week's Cultural Storytellers interview, Eli Kent tells Renee Liang how he started creating and performing in his bedroom long before The Intricate Art of Actually Caring, using action figures to ‘play out epic stories’ as a child.
"And I turned my sister’s Sylvanian Family animals into a savage warrior tribe by drawing war paint on them with felt tips."
Eli’s latest creation, Thinning, is part of the upcoming Young and Hungry Festival 2010.
Leadership Week: Congratulations to Renee Liang for her Sir Peter Blake Emerging Leader Award! Teaser... Keep an eye on The Big Idea next week for Renee’s interview with scientist Ray Avery, who received the Blake Medal for Leadership. Avery is also the keynote speaker for Survive &Thrive on July 8.
Continuing the theme of leadership, Philip Patston discusses the potential trend of young people moving towards peer support rather than learning from their elders. What do you think? Join the discussion here.
And in the spirit of ‘surviving and thriving’ Ande Schurr explores ‘a common freelancer belief that the market has died down’, suggesting a fresh perspective to help fight the famine.
