ThePlops finalists for children's music award

The latest music video from New Zealand’s very own children’s entertainment group ThePlops is proving such a hit with kids, that it has become a finalist for the What Now APRA Music Video Awards and receiving hundreds of YouTube views everyday!

Four colourful energetic characters - Captain Spacey Sue, Wonder Wertle, Fiona Fairy and Carey Cowboy – scramble across the screen, encouraging kids to get up, get outside and get active. By working with SPARC, Active Movement is at the forefront of “Let’s Go!”; this means easy to learn dance moves that are specifically designed to help young minds develop motor function skills.

This is the second year the APRA Children’s Choice Awards have been hosted by children’s TV show, What Now.  The 3 finalists can be viewed at the What Now Website where voting will run until the 5th of July.

The song “Lets Go!” was written by Jamie Burgess – ex songwriter for multi-award winning Band, Parachute and produced by Tui award winner Geoff Duncan.  With only a limited budget, a fantastic team of Wellington film makers and kids got together to produce the nominated music video.

“Lets Go! Has been designed to help young minds understand musicality and expand their ideas about song.” Says Raquel Sims, Creative Director of ThePlops. “But over all of this, what is assured is that “Let’s Go!” is just great to watch, listen to and share with children, and children-at-heart”
