Have your say Auckland
Now is your chance, creative people, to have your input into the planning, strategy and priorities for the future of Auckland.
So sharpen your pencil and fill out this online survey developed by The Big Idea. It focuses on areas where the Auckland Council wants to hear from the creative sector as part of 'Auckland Unleashed'.*
Your opinions and ideas will directly contribute to Council planning for the creative sector, so don't hold back!
Auckland Council (through Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development) asked The Big Idea to make it easy for you to have your say.
How to have your say
1. Fill in the survey. You have until 18 May so please don't delay.
2. Make a detailed submission. The group that is facilitating work towards an Auckland arts advisory group have written some guidelines to help you make the most of this process. They have also produced a creative sector specific guide to Auckland Unleashed, to tease out the issues and opportunities for creative practitioners, organisations and businesses, to help you get started.
3. Attend council consultation events around the city
4. Join The People's Panel [an Auckland Council group]
5. Join some key discussions on facebook.
With feedback closing on 31 May 2011, you still have time to get involved.
What’s next?
Later in the year, when the Draft Auckland Plan is complete, there will be a period of public consultation. The final plan is due to be adopted by Auckland Council in December.
* Auckland Unleashed is the title of the discussion document that sets out the ideas and initial proposals that will go towards creating the draft Auckland Plan. Find out more on the Auckland Council website.
