Academy Winter Exhibition
The recipient of the 2009 Governor General Award is…
Jeanne Macaskill.
Presented by the Honourable Sir Anand Satyanand in the presence of a full house at the Academy Galleries in Wellington on Friday 31 July. The Winter show features a retrospective of Jeanne's work entitled, DREAMS AND VARIATIONS.
An exceptional number of entries were received for the 2009 Winter Exhibition and it is a tribute to the Academy’s exhibitions manager, Jane Brimblecome that all those selected have been arranged into a diverse and exciting exhibition.
The Winter Exhibition is an open exhibition and runs until 23rd August.
Academy Galleries are open daily 10am - 5pm and entry is free. Donations are always welcomed though.

Alex DiMercurioI'm a Wellington based contemporary artist who is currently looking for national and international gallery representation, and any other opportunities for exhibiting works.
From early beginnings as an art student I've had paintings exhibited at The Dowse gallery - now The New Dowse - in Lower Hutt, 1990.
I've since been exhibiting in various shows and galleries since 2004 and now have paintings in private collections throughout New Zealand, France and Australia. More recently my paintings have featured in several New Zealand publications. My work has also been selected as finalist for a few national Awards.
