Avian Architecture: Greg Piper

Greg Piper, Nest #2, 2009, pencil on paper

In the urban environment we are surrounded by natural phenomena that we rarely acknowledge.  Greg Piper's monochromatic drawings explore the mysteries of nest-building, ponder how it is that birds can produce such complex structures, and question our perceptions of these secretive urban neighbours.

The opening function for this show is 4 - 6pm, Sunday 9th August 2009, and the exhibition will continue in Northart's Gallery 4 until August 26th.  Exhibiting in the same space is Gabriella Trussardi with Ab/ject, featuring artefacts which respond to issues of abjection and subjecthood, expressed through worn and mended clothing.
