Art exhibition celebrates Manurewa’s creativity
Manurewa’s Nathan Homestead presents an exciting exhibition that combines art and craft from talented tutors and students, and features a unique, interactive art opening.
The exhibition, ‘Apples, Peaches, Bananas and Pears - A Nathan Homestead Tutors and Students Exhibition’ runs from 10 September to 4 October 2009.
This group exhibition shines with images, artwork and ideas explored in the many creative corners of Nathan Homestead, Manurewa’s Community Arts Centre.
Included will be examples of flax weaving, photography, patchwork, soft stone sculpture, printmaking and painting. There will also be a colourful section dedicated to the bright, bold work of our young artists and the students of Nathan Homestead Performing Arts.
To launch the exhibition, Nathan Homestead is holding an Artastic Happy Hour Opening on Wednesday 9 September, 5.30pm - 6.30pm.
This fun-filled 'art happening' will have 60 jam-packed minutes of free art activities involving balloon making, face-painting and children's craft activities.
