RNZB - From Here to There
Royal New Zealand Ballet are packing their bags as they prepare to perform for audiences in the UK and France next month.
The company, who recently toured the sell-out Stravinsky Selection in New Zealand, will perform the triple bill From Here to There, in Cardiff, London, Nottingham, Bradford and Sisteron in France. The programme features Jorma Elo’s Plan to A, Andrew Simmons’ A Song in the Dark and Javier De Frutos’ Banderillero.
“International touring is crucial to us,” says Royal New Zealand Ballet General Manager Amanda Skoog. “It allows us to benchmark ourselves against the best and to also cement our reputation for mixing artistically adventurous programmes with pieces by both leading international choreographers and new home-grown Kiwi talent.”
During the tour, New Zealand celebrity chef Peter Gordon is providing his renowned London restaurant The Providores for the RNZB to host a function for UK dance critics and supporters.
“We are incredibly grateful to Peter for his generosity and support of the RNZB. It will provide us with an opportunity to introduce the company to some very influencial people,” says Skoog.
The RNZB , who last toured the UK in 2004, will be in the UK and France from 8 - 23 July.
