I for Invisible...I for Inclusion
Artstation's latest exhibition, I for Invisible...I for Inclusion is a multimedia visual art installation that celebrates visibility, affirms identity and challenges the concepts of what inclusion means and is opening on October 26.
This installation represents the full arts programme at Toi Ora Live Art Trust involving visual arts, creative writing, performance, music and multimedia.
Toi Ora Live Art Trust is a unique shared creative space in the heart of Auckland city for adults who have come in contact with mental health services.
"The experience of mental ill health can change one's life. Being included and acknowledged is an integral part of recovery and well-being, in essence being visible to the world. We all have a need to be a part of something bigger than ourselves, and to contribute to society," says Toi Ora manager, Erwin Van Asbeck.
"Walking delicately through the places where your life absolutely, unavoidably, must interact with theirs... trying to remain invisible ..." says one of Toi Ora artist's perception on invisibility.
Along with the exhibition the public is invited to come along on Thursday 3 November for 'I' - a music and poetry performance night to experience the compelling artistic expression of the Toi Ora artists.

Artstation is the Auckland Council's community visual arts facility located in the old police barracks at 1 Ponsonby Road, Newton. It is easy to get to by bus, with the Link that stops right outside. Artstation also has wheelchair access and a lift, which can be accessed from the side entranceway to the right side of the building from Ponsonby Road.
