Grey Lynn Creates
Grey Lynn Creates is an eight day festival during the RWC 2011, 25th September - 2nd October, celebrating creativity and sustainability in the local community.
With a programme of free events suitable for all ages, people of the community and visitors alike are invited to experience and participate in the local artistic, cultural, culinary and environmental happenings across the week.
A key event of the festival is the Window Galleries, where West Lynn shops are paired with local artists to create a street-side art exhibition for the week of the festival.
Pairings are diverse, including Jude Graveson's work in Moa boutique, who makes delicate sculptural installations out of gut and Elizabeth McClure's intricately carved glass wine bottles in Wine Vault.
Grey Lynn Creates is a Grey Lynn 2030 event, part of the REAL New Zealand Festival and is supported by the New Zealand Lottery Grants Board. Visit greylynncreates.co.nz for event details.
