Rachael King

My first novel, The Sound of Butterflies, came out in 2006, and I am working on my next one in between looking after my baby son

Favourite tools:

My brand new iMac which I haven't written a word on since my son was born (but I mean to!), but boy it's good for 'research' (ie net-surfing); my little red notebook and a nice inky pen.

Inspiration:

Daydreams, other writers, a good view.

Listening to:

At the moment a mixture of: National Radio in the morning, Phoenix Foundation, Be Good Tanyas, and the brilliant Stuart McLean, Canadian writer who does talking books about Dave who works at The Vinyl Caf e.

Now showing:

In all good bookstores, plus some stories online here and here.

My Big Idea:

To make up stories for a living, for life.
