Astrid Visser
A bit about

Astrid Visser is an art and graphics teacher at Marlborough Girls' College in Blenheim. She Graduated from NMIT with a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 2006 and has since worked in Architecture and Interior design in London, exhibited work occasionally and been commited to arts education. Astrid is particularly interested in education within art galleries and set up the education program for Blue Oyster Gallery, Dunedin in 2009.

Next exhibition will be at the Bishop Suter Gallery Nelson from May 1st 2010 until June 3rd as the Artist in Focus.

Down Down Down He Fell

This work is part of a series investigating Men's expression of emotions. I took the text from Alice in Wonderland. Lewis Carol's metiphore of Alice falling represented her decent (as he saw it) into Womanhood.

Currently playing with how to mount this work to get the most out of the prespective effect.

Work may be on show at the Bishop Suter Gallery in May 2010
