Big Idea: Why Phoenix? The phoenix is a mythical bird, fabulous and sacred. Its colour comes from the Greek word for ‘purple’, associated with fire and the sun. It is symbolic of rebirth, faith, hope and triumph over adversity and, most importantly, it renews itself from within its own being, returning brighter and more beautiful than before. Belly dance is the catalyst for bringing out the phoenix in all of us, with belly dance we are able to take what is already within us and bring it to the surface to show ourselves and the world our strength, beauty, and grace.
So, Phoenix Belly Dance has a dream...to bring this essential dance form to every girl or woman who wants to get in touch with her feminine identity, to love themselves and the woman inside once more, and through performance to inspire, communicate and share this message with supportive audiences who want to catch a glimpse of the strength and grace that emerges from within us.
