Name: Elisabeth Zelger
A bit about: I'm a 27-year old Austrian working in the cultural industry. I studied international business, tourism and art history in Austria and New Zealand and lived in New Zealand from 2006-2009, where I worked in the hospitality industry, as well as as a gallery assistant at the Wellington City Gallery whilst studying. I am currently working in event management at the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna, Austria.
I will finish my masters in cultural management in June 2011 and am planning to move back to New Zealand shortly after that.
I have written my first thesis on urban cultural tourism, comparing the two capital destinations Wellington and Vienna, and am currently working on my second masters' thesis on intangible sustainable economic impacts of cultural events on a region.
I am an open person who is interested in the arts as well as meeting new people and learning about different cultures. Even though most of my experience is in the visual arts, I would like to get further work experience in other fields of the creative industries, such as festival and music management, as well as public organisations.
