I've read countless self help books / magazines over the years but not found one that covers everything women want to know. My job is to gather all the info i've learnt and put it into one book with useful info you'll want to read - No more buying loads of mags or book series!!
My mission for 2010 is to write, design and publish a self help book for women that covers everything from life / love to beauty.
My main reason for creating this book is not only to give women what they want but for my own personal, professional development and to help my niece learn from mine and my families mistakes when growing up.
I was the girl who went for the wrong guys, ended up with bad boys, had a "type" and was TOO picky. I was the girl that was negative, never thought anything good could happen to me and always doubted myself. Well....that all changed when i decided to leave my usual routine, friends and family behind and move to the other side of the world (New Zealand). I decided i was stuck in a rut, wanted to change my life for the better and deserved to be happy. Funnily enough i'm now happier than ever, met a guy from Leeds (typical, i thought i'd meet a kiwi guy if i moved to New Zealand but nope. Oh and he's nothing like the "type" i always thought i wanted but i'm happy and have the bestest boyfriend anyone could ask for :o) Since i left my negativity behind i've started winning stuff - It's all about positive thinking and not listening to negative people :o)
I was blessed with big boobs, size 6 figure but i DO have cellulite, I DO have stretch marks, I DO have a pot belly and i DO get self conscious but it's all about making the most of what you've got and making it work.
I have my own personal advice on why we go for bad boys, how to avoid them, why we have a type - how that's bad for us, being too nice and too keen gets you nowhere, why getting to know someone that isn't your "type" could lead to a happily ever after, going for a smear test could save your life, family issues, why we want everything before 30, mid life crisis at 25? why moving to the other side of the world and leaving what i knew best changed my life, plus beauty / fashion advice and many more little secrets.
A guy i used to work with told me he didn't need to watch Coronation Street because my life and stories about my family were more interesting - I think that says something ;o)
I'll be dedicating my book to my lovely mum who brought us 4 girls up on her own - Thanks mum, miss you lots and love you to bits. My little sis is a beauty therapist - Thanks Soph for all the advice you've given me.
