Margaret Belich
She has an extensive background in the arts and creative sector, as a minder (manager), a maker (creative producer and researcher) and an “icing-on-caker” (fundraiser). She’s still working hard to make it as a poet. She has also worked in the tertiary education sector and in government. As an independent consultant, she now works with arts and cultural groups to make them stronger, focusing on capacity-building, in particular good planning, thoughtful development and strategic fund raising.
Last seen in Auckland helping out with Q Theatre, she’s now based in Wellington, doing similar things. She has a Master of Commerce from Auckland University (on what makes organizations tick), is proudly a Theatre Studies alumni (BA, VUW, 1976) and is on the Cultural Philanthropy Taskforce, convened by Arts Minister, the Hon. Chris Finlayson to help grow philanthropy to the sector.
