Pam Brabants' pencil drawings have been described as cartoon observations. She often takes the perspective of narrator as she throws the viewer into the trivial details, secret lives and phobias of members of various sub-cultures, social misfits and the person next door.
She seeks to examine the subjective in an objective way, exposing all the paradoxes and self-delusion that that implies.
Her labour is apparent in the drawings with an obsessive attention to detail that is reflected in the characters themselves.
Pam works in other media including embroidery and cross stitch. She also does private commissions in the form of comic strips.
