About...

Name
Renee Maurice
Big Idea

Renee Maurice is well on her way to becoming an accomplished artist.

At just 18 years of age, this talented singer/songwriter has written over 160 songs, written 4 scripts for film and a musical for stage.

In 2006, her song, "For the love of Saula", which explains hers and many others' interest in the relationship between American Idol judges Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell,   reached #1 on the Australian MP3 charts, and held its position for 10 weeks.

In 2007, Renee co-wrote and released the song Queen of Hearts with EMI, as part of the charitable organization, StarJam. The song was written in commemoration of Princess Diana on the 10th anniversary of her death.

The same year, she also wrote the title song and performed in the Theatre South production of Warchild, the original stage show by Gavin Richards, depicting the current day atrocities of children becoming soldiers. The show and song received high acclaim, globally.

Currently, Renee spends her time writing songs and performing. Renee has also written a musical called Seacliff: Demise of Ward 5, which surrounds the tragic events of the fire in 1942 at Seacliff Asylum, near Dunedin, which claimed the lives of 37 women. Renee hopes to see it produced in the near future and is looking into several avenues that may see that happen.

As well as focusing on her own career, Renee continues to lend her talents and support to the Charitable organization Starjam, with whom, she has performed on numerous occasions, including the recent Halberg Performance in January. Renee will be performing with Starjam again in the near future and is now working on her 3rd Album.
