We are a group of concerned individuals who feel called by the rivers of Aotearoa to speak up on their behalf. It is the right of all living creatures, who are dependent on our free-flowing rivers, to exist. We insist that the guardianship of this right remains in the hands of all the people of New Zealand, who love and appreciate the beauty of our world. The selling of this right, to private corporations, whose primary concern is the maximisation of profit, is an anathema to us. It is a matter of some significance that historically New Zealand women were the first women in the world to receive the right to vote. We appreciate their struggle at home, and in other countries, to gain equality of opportunity with men. Now we need to be at the forefront once again in struggling for the protection & preservation of our rivers.
