To begin with I have been working for Lemi Ponifasio’s MAU Company based at MAU Theatre at Corban Estate and have been with the company since 2001. I am in charge with the video content required for submission, funding, exhibition and
archive. From submitting work to festivals, media release’s to print, television and websites. In this position I work autonomously within MAU Theatre as a resident filmmaker and video artist. I’m also the Theatre Company’s production assistant, runner and theatre concierge.As apart of this company I have been fortunate to work in great locations and critically acclaimed festivals touring the world. From the Pacific to Europe I have traveled with the company as a Filmmaker and Video Artist to New Caledonia’s Tjibaou Cultural Center and Italy’s La Biennale Di Venezia (Venice). I have had work with MAU in festivals in New Zealand, Australia, Tahiti, New Caledonia, Italy, Germany and Holland.
An International award winning music video, collaborating and editing New Zealand rock legend David Kilgour’s from Flying Nun's The Clean, Living in Space music video, which
won a Gold Remi award at the Worldfest Houston International Film Festival 2005, produced by Paul Judge and Directed by Bridget Sutherland.Having exhibited in Auckland City Library for the Hokianga Exhibition, apart of Te Ropu Ratonga Maori,
Auckland City Libraries as a commissioned artist I directed an animated a film The Hokianga Harbour, A Taniwha Tale written by Ross Gregory. The project has been selected for the Wairoa Maori And Indigenous Film Festival 2011. I also had a video installation and did proposal, project an advertising
videos for the curators.Having worked on projects for Television, starting with Morningside Productions and The Open Door series I was a camera / editor for director Keith Lambert and Te Mika Show on Maori Television, I was the camera operator.
Working with contemporary dance artist Jack Gray with Theatre design and Video Art in our project View From The Gods that toured Auckland’s Tempo Festival 06 and Christchurch’s
Body Festival 2006. To be known as the "most provocative work in the festival" DANZ Quarterly 2006.
Short films for festivals have been a passion for me and having had key roles in these productions they have been enjoyable to work on. Kei Hea Te Kuri was a graduate film I directed as apart of my Bachelor of Arts, Performing and Screen Arts degree and has recently been selected in MIC / Toi Rerehiko Pollywood 8 2010 and the Wairoa Maori And Indigenous Film Festival 2010, Te Mahurehure Marae Cultural Film Festival 2010 and Manukau Festival Of Arts 2010, Made In Manukau Film Festival.I also have worked being a corporate and wedding videographer for over ten years.
I am currently working on a Creative Communities, Creative NZ funded solo project, Hina, A videoart installation.
