A bit about

The Arts have always played a major role in my life especially Tongan Arts – Music and Dance from a very young age influence from my Grandfather, both my mother and father and also my fathers’ siblings. What was a hobby as a young girl ended up being the one thing I am very passionate about and with generations of knowledge, skill, technique and stories passed down through my family is what I fell in love with, as well as the want to share this through teaching, performing and creating work.
After graduating from P.I.P.A (Pacific Institute of Performing Arts) in 2010 I was asked to come back and be a guest tutor teaching Tongan Dance to both the first and second year diploma students. I am also one of two Production Assistants for “Lima” a Dance Theatre company under the direction of Olivia Taouma. I was also part of the first full length Tongan play “Kingdom of Lote” produced by Kila Kokonut Krew where I played the character of Lote. At the moment I am working on “The Factory” also produced by Kila Kokonut Krew as Stage Manager with the season due to end on the 10 September 2011. Was selected as one of three choreographers to create a new work for the Pacific Dance Choreographic Lab 2011as well as project manage for “Matala” a week long celebration of Tongan Arts throughout the ages, a first ever to be held at the Mangere Arts centre starting on the 17th – 22nd October 2011.
