Kia Ora!
I set off to explore the big idea'l world, seek creative opportunities and open doors that I never imagined would happen. I built a strong passion within to come home and celebrate the beauty of Aotearoa. I am uncertain exactly what the future holds for me but I do know I will be creating, entertaining and educating about the importance of culture and creativity!
Based in London for two years I formed friendships with proud, inspiring and supportive whanau members of maori and polynesian performing arts companies, 'Manaia Ltd', 'Beats Of Polynesia International' and the London based maori culture club 'Ngati Ranana'. They encouraged me to educate and entertain through performance and workshops throughout the UK, Europe, USA and Africa. Travelling and performing has given me so many things including cultural and self awareness as I found it is much more fulfilling travelling for a cultural purpose.
The response's from performances and workshops were always positive as we travelled in respect to kawa and tikanga of culture and cultural differences. This was important so that all people respected one another and felt the mana within the gatherings. Respect is a worldwide language so we were sure to do just fine since we had each others best interest at heart.
I am currently in my first year of a 3 year 'Degree in Stage and Screen Arts' based in Wellington. For now I am focussing on learning the tools and gaining the skills that will allow me to become a great singer, performer and role-model. This is a new chapter in my journey of creativity. I hope to meet you along the way.
