As with a work of art the Icon Centre will evolve into a working space that reflects the need of the artistic community of the region. As we get nearer June 2011 a call out for artists and affiliates will be posted on The Big Idea...watch this space.
- Big Idea
Our Big Idea is deceptively simple.
To offer a Space and a Place where Visual / Performing and Commercial Arts can be represented and hosted in a dedicated Arts environment.
Icon aims to offer the Nelson Bays region a venue and a resource centre that has Arts as its base business.
Working studios and a wide range of media and scale will offer the public and the creative community a chance to see and experience many diverse forms of visual art. And, following in the footsteps of the wonderfully supportive vineyards of the region Icon will endeavour to blend the performing arts into the mix with a wonderful out door performance space and court yard area specifically designed with music in mind.
