- A bit about
I have a Diploma in Fine and Applied Arts from London Guildhall University, an MFA(hons) from Elam School of Fine Arts, and a BA from Otago University. I have taught in fine arts programmes at Auckland University since 2005 for Elam School of Fine Arts and the Centre for Continuing Education.
I am represented by Bowen Galleries in Wellington and I have had solo exhibitions at the public art galleries Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts (A Short History of Some Other Things) and Tauranga Art Gallery (My Ship/Tënei Wakahëra).
I am a founding member of the artistic collaborations The Friendly Girls Society (which is community-based) and Paper Does Not Refuse Ink (which is research-based). I have also worked on several creative commissions, and design and community projects.
My art practice has been featured on Radio New Zealand’s arts programme and on TV3 as a documentary for the Living Room arts series. I have also been a contributor to panel discussions on the subjects of print culture and artist-run initiatives. Earlier in my life I worked as a journalist and documentary researcher. I live in Auckland.http://tracey-williams.blogspot.com/
