- A bit about
Since 2008, the Wellington Producers Room has operated as a hub for creative producers within the professional performing arts sector in Wellington. We are based at Toi Poneke, The Wellington Arts Centre.
The Wellington Producers Room is Eleanor Bishop, Leo Gene Peters, Robin Kerr and Josephine O'Sullivan.
We aim to develop and make sustainable the role of the independent creative producer; the driving force behind any theatre production, venue, or performing arts company.
We are a shared office space and home to between four and five independent producers.
We are a a place where producers can work, support and mentor each other, collaborate, share ideas and opportunities, and explore new ways of making work, developing new art forms, and fostering relationships.
We produce performance projects, we offer a free mentoring service, and we host a program of public forums aimed at practitioners within the performing arts called InterMISSION.
We are currently supported by Creative Communities funding through Creative NZ and Wellington City Council, and have been previously supported by Cultural Grant funding through the Wellington City Council.
