so this guy I know from town offers to come down and help out...
and you know what those Aucklanders are like, he got the gumboots right...
This outfit was orginally designed for a woman but ribbed knitting is so forgiving. The dress is rev rib and knitted in 8 ply wool, the coat is rev stocking stitch stripes in wool and then felted.
The gumboots were kindly lent by Safety Protection and are distributed by Swandri.

This outfit was modelled in the Obviously Organic section of Villa Maria Cult-Couture 2008
Dress is handknitted in reverse rib using an 8ply crepe wool. The coat is knitted in reverse garter stitch stripes and then felted. It has a centre zip closing and houndstooth check lining

Margaret LewisIts not just about fashion. I live a life surrounded by textile - in particular wool. Its in my room, in my car, on my desk at work... Designing handknits and selling them is not my sole source of survival but it is what I love. I'm lucky that this love is supported by other things that I love, including working for The Big Idea and also helping to facilitate the careers of emerging artists. I feel truly blessed.
