Wrapped in mystery

Every girl wants to hide from the world at times and with a hood this size you certainly can

Inspired by streetwear but wanting something more luxurious this cardigan has been felted and shaped to fit like a tailored jacket then lined for ease of wear. The frilled hood is a masterpiece of patience to create.

A handknitted aran cardigan, fulled and felted and then remade into an item of streetwear but so winter white you could get married in it [provided it was winter].What inspired me was the desire to push this knitting yarn to it’s limits and create miles of frills without all the increasing and decreasing you would normally have to do. The deep hood is perfect for hiding, without looking like a gangsta. The cardigan is based on those shapeless boxes of arans that we do for the tourist industry but could do so much more with.

Its not just about fashion. I live a life surrounded by textile - in particular wool. Its in my room, in my car, on my desk at work... Designing handknits and selling them is not my sole source of survival but it is what I love. I'm lucky that this love is supported by other things that I love, including working for The Big Idea and also helping to facilitate the careers of emerging artists. I feel truly blessed.
