The new look - blame Dior...nipped in waists, beautiful bustlines. Fast forward 60 years...people don't want all those undergarments and weird wiring. Instead its something they can breathe in and live in.
The simple bustier is worked in rib with knitted lace detail around bust and is held up by a negative fit [basically buy one size smaller and you'll be right].
The gently pleated skirt is booofed out by petticoats and nipped in at the waist with a knitted belt.
The socks could be described as naughty, over the knee with knitted lace trim.

Sometimes, its colour, sometimes its texture but you just never know where the next idea is coming from.

Margaret LewisIts not just about fashion. I live a life surrounded by textile - in particular wool. Its in my room, in my car, on my desk at work... Designing handknits and selling them is not my sole source of survival but it is what I love. I'm lucky that this love is supported by other things that I love, including working for The Big Idea and also helping to facilitate the careers of emerging artists. I feel truly blessed.
