The poems of Katherine Mansfield leave vivid images in my mind. It seems only natural I should wish to attempt to illustrate one of her many beautiful poems using visual storytelling.
For my remix I have borrowed her poem The Opal Dream Cave and remixed it with illustrations of my own, based on elements found in National Library NZ creative commons photographs.

Judges’ comments
Judges agreed that Opal Dream Cave was one of the most original entries submitted to Mix and Mash. Creative Commons licensed content has been remixed with Mansfield’s words and drawings inspired by out-of-copyright photographs from the collections of the National Library of New Zealand. These seemingly disparate sources have been threaded together with skill and creativity into a beautiful, moving visual story.
